Chantal is a Cree/Métis woman living in Calgary, with roots in Muskeg Lake Cree Nation, Saskatchewan. She is an activist, artisan, and performer with a strong presence throughout the city. Join us for a smudging and welcome song with Chantal.
Grassroots organizing and social movements are vital for making change, accomplishing projects, and shifting political landscapes. Are you a part of a grassroots group or do you have an idea for a project, event, or campaign but need help getting organized from the bottom up? In this interactive group discussion, you will have the opportunity to learn from fellow feminist activists; bring your ideas and questions, learn from their experiences, and discuss potential challenges and opportunities for collaboration. Don’t have an idea? Bring your valuable input and unique experience to add to the discussions! Guest facilitators will include: the Canada Period Project, Emily Leedham, Olivia Golosky, Kate Jacobson, Selina Renfrow, and Romy Garrido.

Gain an introduction to vocals, starting with a series of breathing exercises and demonstrations, leading into a handful of vocal warm-ups that will ignite all the registers and vowel placements. These can be routines they carry however long they wish to stay crisp! Everyone will walk away knowing how important it is to stretch those tiny delicate muscles and also little regiments to take back home as well. Not only is it about warm ups but it's about your general health as well!

This workshop provides participants with a deeper understanding of the roots of homophobic and sexual bullying and harassment. We explore strategies to address bullying, prevent harassment, and highlight the roles of bystanders. Participants leave prepared and confident to address this issue in a way that empowers the person experiencing harassment, while providing teachable moments to those engaging in it.
