Wow – what an amazing five days. We are so grateful for all the love, support, encouragement and hugs we got over the weekend. We’ll have some photos from the events coming in the next little bit – tag your friends!

We’ve got a ton of thank yous because so many wonderful folks stepped up to help out this year, so let’s get right to it.

A huge THANK YOU to sponsors because really, without you we couldn’t have done any of this. Long & McQuade, Calgary Show Services, Big Rock Brewery, Lukes Drugs Mart, Purr. You are all angels.

We’d like to thank all the venues (Commonwealth, Dickens, The Legion, Hifi Club, Tubby Dog, Blackbyrd, Cafe Blanca, Truck Gallery and Stride Gallery) for welcoming us into their spaces with open arms and hearts. Thank you also to the staff of all the venues who were so kind, helpful and a dream to work with.

The bands, visual artists, comedians, filmmakers, workshop facilitators and panelists who participated. You’re all amazing and we love the space you take up.

To all the volunteers who helped out however they could – THANK YOU, you made our lives just that much easier.

There are some wonderful people who stepped up to lend us a hand when we needed a ride, gear, food, coffee or a number of other random things here and there. Thank you for being you and supporting us.

Thanks to the various media outlets who covered the festival in any way. Your help in getting our message to the masses is so appreciated.

The incredible Femme Wave board: Kenna Burima, Marta Ligocki, Jen Bates, Adora Nwofor, Becky Salmond and Kari Watson (and Kaely & Hayley). What a force! What a team! What a bunch of tireless, driven people.

Our even more tireless and driven committee: Naddine Madell-Morgan (artist care, tech and all around superangel), Steph Perrin (social media), Morgan Cairns (box office), Cecilia Schlemm (volunteer coordinator), Nicola Lefevre (Girl’s Rock Camp Calgary), Johanna Schwartz (web coordinator), Dana Buzzee (visual arts curator), Adele Brunnhofer (film curator), Sarah Adams (comedy curator), Bree Gardner (safer spaces coordinator), and Talia Potter, Karen Ball and Sharon Stevens, our wonderful spiritual advisors.

Last but not least: all of you who came out to the events. Femme Wave wouldn’t really be a thing if it weren’t for the wonderful folks in the community who showed up and lifted us up. Keep showing up. Keep participating. Thank you a million times. And thank you to the folks who are behind us but weren’t able to make it out to events. Thanks for your support and we’ll see you soon.

We are overwhelmed with the success of the festival this year and the support we’ve received. We’re so excited to get to work on 2017 (after we recover!) and keep providing space and support for the community. As always, if you want to get in touch please do: or right here on our Facebook.

Thanks everyone. We love you.
