Femme Wave is looking for two Visual Arts Programming Interns. Working directly with one another and the Visual Arts Curator the interns will be an integral part of organizing Femme Wave’s 2017 Visual Arts Programming.

This position is ideal for those with intersectional feminist politics, a commitment to being inclusive and anti-oppressive in their work, and who care about community building and organizing around visual arts.

Duties may include curatorial research, coordinating with artists, installation and striking of exhibitions, working on press releases, and event promotion. There is also room for the Programming Interns to develop their own ideas and projects within the programming.

Femme Wave is currently a volunteer-run festival. We are working to develop the festival to a place where labour is remunerated, but currently are not yet able to provide monetary compensations. We are committed to making this position beneficial for those interested by providing mentorship for curating, arts admin, and organizing.

Time commitments will vary but will average three hours per week. Candidate must be available for the weekend of the festival (November 16 – November 19) and any visual arts events that fall outside of that.

Please apply with a cover letter and and CV to Dana Buzzee at no later than Midnight May 8, 2017.
