Auring’s Words

dir. Tram-Anh Ngo
Quebec

Auring, a retired art teacher, helps her granddaughter Alice learn the meaning of words in two languages: English and Tagalog. Their happy lessons are complicated when Auring begins to display memory loss. While Alice steadily makes progress in learning about the world around her, Auring struggles to hold on to the nuances of words and memories.

Tram-Anh Ngo is a recent graduate with a BFA in Film Production and a Minor in Creative Writing at Concordia University. She was born in Vietnam and moved to Montreal, Quebec at the age of 14. She has taken on the role of Production Manager for many short films throughout her years at school, and Auring’s Words is her first film out of school.
